MISSION:

To provide a 
career-focused learning experience for New York area regional students pursuing careers in Design and Graphic Communications. Through a structured alignment between students & industry professionals, the GCSF Mentoring Program will provide hands-on experience with professionals within Advertising, Publishing Design and Printing.

The Graphic Communications Scholarship, Award and Career Advancement Foundation founded in 2003 is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit corporation with the following goals in mind.

To increase the awareness of rewarding careers in graphic communications and to develop and implement promotional programs to encourage career interests in all phases of graphic communications, including but not limited to advertising, design, Internet/intranets, interactive media, printing, publishing, journalism, digital asset management, photography and other graphic communication related career opportunities.

To help mentor or advise junior high, intermediate, and middle and high school students (grades 6-12) and college and university students pursuing careers in graphic communications.

To obtain and make available the resources, training aids and educational materials of the Foundation to individuals in pursuit of graphic communications related education at secondary and post-secondary schools.

To promote and provide scholarships/financial aid and other assistance to students pursuing careers in graphic communications.

To implement up to date criteria to certify the skills and recognize the educational accomplishments of those pursuing careers in graphic communications.

To offer internships and/or work study opportunities to students involved in graphic communications programs.
